These SMS Terms & Conditions (“SMS Terms”) govern your receipt of text messages from HouseSync. By opting in to receive SMS messages, you agree to these terms.

Program Description

HouseSync offers SMS notifications to help you stay connected with your household activities. When you opt-in to receive SMS notifications, you may receive text messages including:

  • Household Invitations: When someone invites you to join their property on HouseSync
  • Task Reminders: Notifications about assigned tasks and upcoming deadlines
  • Maintenance Alerts: Reminders for scheduled home maintenance
  • Budget Notifications: Alerts when household budgets reach specified thresholds
  • Shared List Updates: Notifications when grocery or shopping lists are shared with you
  • Account Alerts: Important information about your HouseSync account

Example Messages

Here are examples of the types of messages you may receive:

“John Smith invited you to join 'The Johnson Family Home' on HouseSync! Click to accept: https://housesync.net/invite/abc123”

“New Task Assigned: You've been assigned 'Take out the trash' - due tomorrow at 8:00 AM”

“Maintenance Reminder: HVAC filter change is due in 3 days for 123 Main Street.”

“Grocery List Shared: Sarah shared the weekly grocery list with you. View it in the HouseSync app.”

“Budget Alert: Your household budget has reached 80% of the monthly limit.”

Consent

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages from HouseSync at the number provided. You agree that:

  • You are the owner or authorized user of the mobile phone number
  • You are at least 13 years of age (or have parental consent if under 18)
  • You understand message and data rates may apply
  • Your consent is not a condition of purchase or use of HouseSync

Important: Consent to receive SMS is NOT required to use HouseSync. You can use all features with email notifications only.

Message Frequency

The number of messages you receive depends on your household activity and notification preferences:

  • Typical: 0-10 messages per week
  • Variable: Frequency depends on task assignments, invitations, and alerts you receive
  • Controllable: You can customize notification preferences in your account settings

We do not send marketing or promotional SMS messages. All messages are transactional notifications related to your HouseSync account and household activities.

Costs and Charges

HouseSync does not charge for SMS messages. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Please check with your carrier for details about your messaging plan.

How to Opt-Out

You can stop receiving SMS messages at any time by:

  • Reply STOP: Text “STOP” to any message from HouseSync
  • Account Settings: Disable SMS notifications in your HouseSync account
  • Contact Us: Email support@housesync.net

After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and no further SMS messages (except a final confirmation). You can re-enable SMS at any time in your account settings.

Privacy

Your phone number and messaging data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • We do not sell your phone number to third parties
  • We use Twilio as our SMS provider (see Twilio Privacy Policy)
  • We retain consent records as required by law
  • We do not share your number for marketing purposes

Carrier Information

SMS services are provided through Twilio. Compatible with all major US carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes to SMS Terms

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via SMS or email. Continued receipt of messages after changes constitutes acceptance.
